Faith In Action
What Service Means
At First Presbyterian Church of Hudson the meaning of service extends beyond simple charity. We believe that all Christians are called to service by giving of their time and energy to ministries of compassion, peace, and justice. Service calls us out of our comfort zone and involves building relationships beyond our own circle, as Christ’s radical love breaks all barriers. We believe in listening to the diverse voices in our community and hearing their expression of needs on their own terms. We believe that service truly empowers; it should be transformative to all parties involved. Lastly, we believe that true service is oriented towards justice which means not just alleviating the symptoms of a social problem, but addressing its root causes. Through education, focus groups, mission studies, and prayer, we are in conversation as to how we can best live into this vision.
Community Partnerships
A large part of our ministry to the community involves opening our doors to groups who need space to do good things in Hudson. We also have several organizations in Hudson which we partner with to serve the city we all love. Currently we are in relationship in some way with the following groups:
Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Re-Entry Taskforce of Columbia County, Perfect Ten Afterschool, Salvation Army, Camphill Hudson, Hudson Daycare, Hudson Interfaith Council, Apostolic Rock Haitian Church, Hudson Baptist Church, Food Pantry at Christ Church, Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People.

Welcome

We welcome ALL to the First
Presbyterian Church of Hudson!

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, gay, filthy rich, dirt poor, or no habla Ingles. Whether you used to work on Wall Street, or if you used to sleep on Wall Street, you’re welcome here. We embrace those in recovery and also those who are still addicted. We will walk with you if you are going through a difficult time or when you need a special prayer: chances are we’ve been there too. If you don’t like “organized religion” or are “spiritual but not religious,” we love you. Even if you got lost and wound up here by accident, we hope you feel at home here. We love soccer moms, crying babies, vegans, hipsters, seekers and doubters, tourists and locals… we mean it when we say, “ALL are welcome here!”
